Who is CHRC
The California Hydropower Reform Coalition, founded in 1997, is a coalition of national, statewide and local river conservation and recreation organizations that work to protect, enhance, and restore California rivers impacted by federally-regulated hydropower dams
CHRC and HRC
CHRC is an independent organization but works closely with the nationally-focused Hydropower Reform Coalition (HRC) and is a member of HRC’s Steering Committee.
Why Reform Hydro
Hydropower dams harm rivers by adversely impacting key ecological functions. The opportunity exists, however, to improve the health of rivers by changing dam operations through a federal licensing process
